OUR FAQ'S
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS?
The first wedding we photographed together was in the fall of 2000. It was a very small affair shot on black and white film. We have certainly come a long way since then.
DO YOU ALWAYS WORK WITH TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS?
Yes, we are a husband and wife team. Partners in life and in work.
DO YOU TRAVEL BEYOND VERMONT FOR WEDDINGS?
We love us some travel, so the answer is a big yes. Although the majority of the weddings we photograph are in our home state of Vermont, we also work quite frequently in all the New England states and in New York. We have traveled as far as Las Vegas, Oregon and the Dominican Republic to shoot, so nothing is out of reach for us.
HOW LONG IS YOUR SHOOTING DAY?
Our standard shooting day is 9 hrs in which time we can can capture details and preparations, ceremony, formal portraits and the reception. You can add more hours if your wedding has special circumstances that warrant more time.
WHAT IF YOU GET SICK AND ARE UNABLE TO PHOTOGRAPH MY WEDDING?
Well, during all the time we have been at this we have been lucky enough to never miss a wedding (knock on wood). If something does happen, we are fortunate enough to be a part of a large network of wedding photographers who substitute for shooters when they have fallen too ill to work. If in the very unlikely outcome we are unable to find a suitable replacement, you will receive a full refund.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes, we are fully covered and can provide proof of insurance if your venue requests it.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS?
Even though most weddings follow a fairly common schedule of events (preparations, ceremony, formal photography, reception) we still find that there is something unique and unexpected about each one. Being witness to, and being able to capture that experience, keeps us coming back year after year. Also, we really enjoy getting to know our couples and have made a lot of lifelong friends through photographing weddings.
HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE?
We come from a background in fashion, beauty and studio lighting, but ultimately fell in love with wedding due to its documentary nature. Our style is a true hybrid of these different disciplines. Our goal is to capture wedding days as candidly and naturally as possible with our knowledge of how to make our couples look stunning through expression and light.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS?
The short answer is cooking. It’s what we love, it’s what we do and what you’ll find us doing most of the time when we are not making photos. We also love spending afternoons in the backyard with our chickens and our cats who keep a close watch on the flock for us.
